Update: Fixing cameras for the community garden project revealed a common battery door flaw

Our neighborhood started a photo journal of the garden's growth. Several point-and-shoot cameras had issues with the battery compartments not closing tight. I realized that a BIT of careful bending on the metal contacts can make a huge difference. Now I suggest checking that first when cameras won't turn on.

Oh fantastic, another hobby that turns into a secret lesson in light metalwork. @hayden_johnson, I fully get the superpower for over-bending. My own method is to gently push the contact, hear a tiny crack, and then immediately enter the "well, tape is a structural component now" phase of the repair. It's a special skill, turning a simple fix into a permanent, janky solution held together by hope and a rubber band.

That battery door thing is a total classic. Always end up wrestling with those flimsy little metal tabs. My first try at fixing anything usually involves making it way worse before it gets better. Pretty sure I have a superpower for turning simple bends into full breaks. Good tip to check that first, saves a lot of useless panic.

Honestly, I used to think you needed special tools, but now I just use a butter knife.
