Did you ever try the ones with the little buckle on them? I grabbed a pack of those velcro cable ties off Amazon for like 8 bucks and they changed my whole desk setup. The plain straps work fine but the buckle ones let you cinch them down tight so nothing slips. I use them for everything now, monitor cables, charging cords, even my guitar cables when I gig. Zip ties always meant cutting them off and tossing them, which got old fast.
