Vent: I used to fish cable through every wall by hand, now I just use a magnet puller and it saves me like 20 minutes a drop.

That "story of modern work" line is a bit off. It's more like the story of any good tradesperson. We've always found smarter ways to do the hard jobs, from using a fish tape fifty years ago to a magnet now. It's just the tools that get better.
