Cheap F connector split on a 6 foot drop and cost me a whole Friday
I was finishing a 4 outlet job in a house off Route 9 near Poughkeepsie and crimped the last connector with a pair of pliers because my good tool was in the truck. Two hours after I left, the customer called and said the picture kept cutting out on every channel. I pulled the wall plate and the barrel of the connector had cracked right at the threads and the center wire was barely touching. I lose half a Friday redoing all 4 drops with real compression fittings, but at least I caught it before the weekend rush. What do you guys do when you run out of the right connectors halfway through a job, reschedule or just drive back to the shop?
