My friend said my habit tracker looked like a sad little prison
She pointed at my daily log last Tuesday and said, "Jess, why are you tracking 'didn't cry at work' and 'only had two coffees'? This is a punishment list." I realized she was right, I was only logging my failures. Now I track small wins instead, like 'remembered to water the office plant' or 'took the stairs once.' Has anyone else had to totally flip their tracker's vibe?

That shift from tracking failures to small wins is something I see everywhere now. It's like we're all trained to focus on what's wrong instead of what's okay or even good. My own to-do list used to be a graveyard of things I didn't do, which just made me feel worse. Reframing it to celebrate tiny, normal things completely changes how you feel at the end of the day. Your friend was spot on calling it a punishment list, because that's exactly what it becomes.

Right? @alex809, why is it so much easier to see what we didn't do?

My buddy started writing down stuff he already did, like making coffee or taking a shower. Said it turned his whole mood around by dinner time.
