Hot take: a messy weekly spread beats a pretty one every time

I was at a coffee shop in Portland last Tuesday, and I noticed someone next to me spent 20 minutes coloring in headers with highlighters while my own page had scribbles and a torn corner from my toddler grabbing it. That pretty layout looked great, but I finished my errands and two work projects that day while she was still decorating, and mine was actually useful. Does anyone else think the aesthetic pressure in this community makes journaling harder instead of easier?
