My $6 drip coffee maker beat my $300 espresso machine, and my kitchen counter finally has room
I ran a two week test in my own kitchen comparing my old $6 Mr. Coffee against the $300 Breville I bought 2 years ago, and the cheap one won because I actually drink 3 cups a day instead of pretending I'm a barista, so I sold the Breville for $180 and put the money toward my grocery fund, has anyone else ditched a fancy kitchen gadget and stuck with the basic version?
Funny how that works, the stuff we actually use every day tends to beat the stuff we bought to feel a certain way. I've noticed this same thing with gym memberships, fancy knives, even cars, the extra money usually buys the idea of a better life more than the better life itself. Once you stop picturing yourself as the person who'd use it, the basic version starts looking pretty great. There's something freeing about admitting you just want coffee in the morning, not a hobby.
