Lost $85 on a streaming subscription I forgot to cancel for 9 months

Signed up for a documentary streaming service back in January to watch one specific series, figured I'd cancel after the free trial. Totally spaced on it and just noticed the charges on my card yesterday. $9.99 a month for 9 months adds up to like $85 and I barely used it after week 3. Anyone else forget to kill a subscription and only catch it way later?

85 bucks? Man that stings. I swear these companies design their cancellation buttons to be hidden in plain sight on purpose. I did the same thing with a workout app last year, 11 months at $14.99 before I caught it. The worst part is you probably watched that one series and then maybe a couple other random things and that's it. I always tell myself I'll set a calendar reminder right when I sign up but I never actually do it. Just gotta write it down somewhere you'll actually see it next time.
