Oh man, I was totally a hotel breakfast loyalist. Grabbing a fresh croissant and coffee from a bakery for like three euros completely changed my budget game. Did that for a week in Lisbon and saved a ton.

But what about when the hotel breakfast is already paid for? I used to eat it just because it was included. Now I skip it to explore local bakeries instead. The experience is way better than a stale buffet. You get to see the city wake up and save cash too. It's a no-brainer once you try it.

My hotel in Rome had an amazing breakfast spread with local pastries and espresso. I'd feel like I wasted money skipping it.
