Missed a bus in Rome and found a 10 euro trattoria

I was in Rome last spring and my connecting bus to the Vatican left 15 minutes early. I ended up walking down a side street near Termini and found a tiny place where locals were eating. Full plate of pasta and a glass of wine for 10 euro total. Has anyone else had a delay work out better than the original plan?

Wonder if a plate of pasta is really worth getting stuck rewriting your whole travel day though.

Man, that sounds like a proper win! I got stuck in Florence for an extra day when my train got canceled, ended up eating at a place that had no English menu and just pointed at what the guy next to me was having. It was some kind of slow cooked beef that I still think about sometimes.
