My $3 bag of lentils changed how I plan dinners for the week
I used to think cheap meals meant bland meals, so I avoided lentils for years. Then last Wednesday I made a big pot of lentil soup with carrots and an onion I had lying around, and it fed me for 4 days for under $5 total. What's your go-to cheap ingredient that surprised you with how good it is?

Have you tried turning a cheap bag of oats into savory meals instead of just breakfast? Ngl, I got a giant tub of rolled oats for like $3, and now I make them with eggs and cheese for dinner. Tastes kinda like risotto and it's filling as hell. Honestly changed my whole cheap eating game.

I got a big bag of chickpeas once and thought I'd hate them. Ended up roasting them with salt and paprika and ate them like popcorn for two weeks straight.
