Watched a wall in Akron go from leaning mess to dead straight in 2 days thanks to one old guy and a level
Last month I got called to fix a garden wall in Akron that a homeowner built himself over a weekend. Thing was leaning about 2 inches off plumb and he couldn't figure out why. An old timer on my crew named Ray spent 20 minutes just looking at it, then said the guy laid every course from the same side of the wall. Ray made him tear down 4 courses and start over working from both ends toward the middle. Two days later that wall was dead straight and the homeowner just stood there shaking his head. Has anyone else run into that same side habit with DIY guys?
