I finally gave up on the popular Thai place near Country Village
For the longest time I thought Siam Thai on Bothell Way was the best around here, you know? But last Thursday I ordered their pad see ew and it came out soggy with way too much sauce, like a pool of it at the bottom of the container. I always defended them to my wife when she said the quality dropped off after the new owners took over about 2 years ago. Then I tried that little spot called Baan Thai up by the QFC on 185th and the noodles had that perfect char and chew. The portion was bigger too for only $13. So I guess I was just stuck in my ways with the old place. Has anyone else found a better Thai spot hiding in the area that I should check out next?

Maybe it's just me but I have a talent for picking the exact wrong moment to try a new place. Like I finally dragged my husband to Baan Thai after hearing all the hype and they were out of rice noodles. Just completely out. At a Thai restaurant. He still brings it up every time I suggest something new in the area. But for real, if you're up for a drive, that tiny place called Kin Len Thai in the Shoreline Costco parking lot has spring rolls that are dangerously good. I ate three in my car before even pulling out of the spot.

Oh gosh, okay so nobody's mentioned the lunch specials at the little Thai place tucked inside that weird strip mall next to the car wash on Greenwood Ave. I almost drove past it twice but their drunken noodles are legit and they use these thick flat rice noodles that don't get mushy even if you take them home. Also their curry comes with a whole leg and thigh of chicken, not just scraps.
