Is naming a plant after your ex bad luck or good fertilizer?

I kept a Venus flytrap alive for 9 months by pretending it was my ex, feeding it whenever I felt bitter. Some folks in my plant group say naming plants after people gives them bad energy, but my flytrap thrived and even caught a wasp last week. I think the personal connection helps me remember to water it, but my friend insists it's cruel to the plant and I should just label it by species instead. What do you all do when a plant reminds you of someone, name it or keep it neutral?

Wait, does the ex know about this or is it your little secret? Because if they ever found out you were feeding bugs to a plant named after them, that could go from quirky to restraining order real fast. I think the real question is whether you're watering it out of spite or actual affection, cause those are two very different kinds of energy for a plant to soak up. Also, what happens when the flytrap finally dies, are you gonna have a little funeral or just toss it in the bin like a breakup? Genuinely curious if the plant picks up on your mood swings or if it's just hungry.
