A client said my foundation plantings looked like a 'green wall' and it clicked
They pointed out that using only boxwoods and yews created zero visual interest, so I started mixing in textures like ornamental grasses and Russian sage. Anyone have other suggestions for breaking up that monotony?

Honestly, is a green wall that bad? It's neat and tidy. Sometimes I wonder if we overthink this stuff trying to make every garden look like a magazine spread.

It's like when people only wear neutral colors, it's safe but gets boring. Adding a few interesting pieces makes the whole outfit pop.
