Vent: I was at the library in Springfield and saw a kid treat a book like a frisbee

It was a big old hardcover, and he just tossed it onto a table. The spine made this awful sound. I always thought my own bindings were pretty tough, but seeing that made me realize I need to test my work way harder. Has anyone else had a moment that made you change your strength tests?

I mean, it's just a book, right?

Honestly, it depends on the book. I read one last year that completely changed how I see things. It wasn't just pages, it felt like a real conversation. Tbh, some stories stick with you way longer than you expect. That's the kind of book you end up buying for other people.

Totally get what you mean. I keep a list on my phone of books that hit me that hard, just titles and a quick note about who to give them to. Makes holiday shopping way easier.
