Tried assigning page numbers for our book club debate on '1984'
Thought it'd keep us focused. Nope. Three people came with the paperback, two had ebook versions, one had the audiobook. We spent 20 minutes arguing over where page 47 even was. Learned that "can we all agree on a chapter reference instead" is the only way to go.

Man, this is honestly one of those things that seems small but just keeps coming up everywhere now. It's like how half my friends will say "can you Venmo me" and the other half are like "I only use Cash App," and suddenly a simple pizza split turns into a whole negotiation. We've got more ways to do things than ever, but zero agreement on how to actually do them. At some point you just gotta pick the lowest common denominator and stick with it, even if it feels dumb.
