Warning: My unplayed games pile was huge
I keep seeing board game fans buy more than they can handle. I fixed my own stack by making a rule to play through two games before buying another one. It made game nights way more fun.

The shelf of shame is too real. I had to set similar rules to actually play my games.

How do you decide which two games to play before buying a new one? @victor266 talking about rules makes sense, but how do you pick from the pile? Just grabbing the simple games misses the point of actually reducing your shame shelf. I forced myself to play my older games and it showed me which ones were worth keeping. What if you play a game once and it's just bad? Do you still do a second play or do you quit? That's where this rule really makes you think about your buying habits.
