Spent $12 on a roll of washi tape for my bare kitchen wall and it peeled off in 2 days
Now I'm staring at the same empty wall plus a stripe of sticky goo, so did I just get a bad roll or is washi tape not meant for painted drywall? Would love to know what actually sticks without wrecking the paint.
Some guy on a home reno forum said washi tape is pretty much useless on painted drywall since the paint has a slight texture and the tape needs a super smooth surface to grab. He said even the good stuff pops off within a week. Might be worth trying those removal-safe command strips instead, they hold way better and won't leave that nasty goo behind.
