Found out my grandma's old doilies are actually great wall art

I was cleaning out her place in Philly last month and almost tossed a box of crocheted doilies. Turns out if you stretch them over cheap 8x10 canvases from Michael's and pin them in place, they look like fancy textured art. Cost me about $12 for 3 canvases, and my living room wall finally looks intentional instead of empty. Anyone else repurpose random fabric or linens this way?

Stretching them over canvases is such a smart move... I did the same thing with my mom's old embroidered handkerchiefs but used spray adhesive instead of pins. The pins can leave little marks if the fabric is thin, so just watch for that.
