Just snapped my third hammer handle this month - power hammer vs hand forging on a bad anvil?
I was midway through a damascus billet at my shop in Austin when the hickory gave out and the head flew straight into my forge wall, so do you guys think I'm just hitting too hard or is my anvil base too soft?

Caught a flying hammer handle to the shin once during a demo at a ren faire. Hobbled around for an hour pretending it was part of the act.

That's some next level commitment right there. Gotta love the "it's all part of the show" mentality. Probably made the crowd think it was some epic choreographed hit. Hope your shin is okay now.
