Brushing scale during heats saved my Saturday cleanups

Used to let scale build up till the end. Made a huge mess. Started hitting it with a wire brush between hammer strikes. Now my pieces come out cleaner. Less time with the grinder after. Finished a set of hinges yesterday with almost no post-work. Feels good to cut that step down.

You used to just let it build up the whole time? I always waited till the end too but your way sounds way smarter, gonna try that next time.

Same here, I always thought letting it build up was just part of the process until I saw posts like this and what maxm63 said. Tried brushing between strikes last week and it's a total game changer for finish work. Your hinge project proves it's the smarter way to go.
