Serious question, has anyone else tried watching a show at 1.25x speed to get through a slow first season?

I did this with 'The Wire' after my brother in Boston said to stick with it, and it actually helped me get hooked by season two. Anyone have other shows where this trick might work?

Honestly, try it with audiobooks narrated by slow talkers too.

You know what, ryanprice, that's a great point. I got so fed up with one narrator dragging every sentence out that I just changed the playback speed. Bumping it up to 1.2x or even 1.5x can make a huge difference. It turns a slow, plodding voice into a normal talking pace. I was ready to give up on the book, but that little tweak saved it for me. Now I adjust the speed on every single audiobook I start.
