Bingeing nature docs has me worried about my electricity use

Finished a series on rainforests and noticed my TV was on for hours. It's a bit of a contradiction, I guess.

You watched a whole series on rainforests with the TV running the whole time? That's like a six hour long lecture on saving water while leaving all your taps on. The energy use from a modern TV for that many episodes is actually pretty wild. Kinda defeats the whole message.

Honestly, it reminds me of when my old roommate would blast documentaries about factory farming while eating a giant pepperoni pizza. The whole thing just feels like a weird performance sometimes. Like, the point gets totally lost when your actions are the exact opposite of the message. I guess we all do a bit of that, but it's really obvious here.
