TIL the cheap dollar store spoons bend way cleaner than the fancy ones I spent $40 on
I always figured you needed thick, heavy spoons to get a good smooth bend, so I kept buying these pricey stainless ones from a kitchen shop in Portland. Last Saturday my buddy handed me a 4 pack of flimsy spoons from the dollar store, the kind that almost fold when you stir soup, and I laughed at him. Then he bent one into a perfect U in about 3 seconds with just two fingers, no kinks, no cracks, nothing. I tried the same move on one of my $10 spoons and it cracked right at the neck and cut my thumb. Turns out the cheap ones have more give and bend slow instead of snapping, which is the opposite of what I thought for like 6 years. So what cheap spoons have you all found that bend the smoothest, because I am done dropping real money on this.
