Question about how I bent spoons for 2 years before realizing I was doing the twist all wrong
I used to grip spoons way down near the bowl and just crank them with my whole hand, and for two years every bend came out lopsided and cracked at the neck. Then last week I was messing around with a cheap diner spoon at my kitchen table and tried pinching right at the base of the bowl with just my thumb and pointer finger, and the metal folded smooth on the first try. Now I'm wondering if the loose grip is actually cheating, since it takes way less force and the bend looks almost too clean. Do you all think a proper bend should fight back a little, or is a clean fold just a better bend? I keep going back and forth on it, so tell me which side you're on.
