Library sale stacks beat thrift store bins every time for me

Hit the big semiannual library sale in Portland last month and spent $12 on 8 hardcovers, all clean and organized by genre. Thrift store bins are cheaper per book sometimes but I spent 2 hours digging through moldy paperbacks to find one decent biography. The library folks actually sort and toss the damaged stuff, so I'm done with the bins around here. Anyone else find library sales way more worth the drive than random Goodwill?}

So you're telling me the setup alone makes it worth it, even if the prices aren't always rock bottom? That's fair, but I gotta ask what actually happens with the leftover stock after the sale ends, do they just dump it in the trash or recycle it? Because that's the part that always bugs me about library sales, all that stuff nobody bought just disappears.
