I used to do every fade with my clippers and a guard, and my blends always had these hard lines that I had to fight to get out. Six weeks ago a barber at a shop in Dallas told me to do all my blending with a trimmer instead, and it made a huge difference. The trimmer runs slower so you can take out the lines without jumping to the next guard too fast. My fades look smoother now and I spend about 5 less minutes per cut. I know some guys swear by clipper-over-comb for everything, but for skin fades the trimmer is just better. Has anyone else made this switch, or do you still blend with clippers?
