A regular at my shop in Spokane said my fades looked 'rushed' on the sides

He pointed out I was taking too much off too fast with my 1.5 guard, leaving a harsh line. Now I start with a 2 and spend way more time blending down before I even touch the 1.5. Has anyone else had a client call them out on a specific part of their technique like that?

When he said "rushed," did he mean the blend was off or the overall cut felt too fast?

Ugh, that's rough. I mean, a client pointing out a harsh line is basically the worst feedback to get. It's good he was specific though, because "rushed" is just a feeling, but the guard issue is something you can actually fix. Starting with the 2 is smart, it gives you more room to work. Honestly, sometimes you need someone to call you out to break a bad habit.
