That one customer who yelled at me over a $2.75 fee still bothers me 3 years later
I worked the front desk at a credit union in Portland back in 2020. This guy came in furious because we charged him a foreign transaction fee on a coffee he bought in Canada. He started screaming about how banks just nickel and dime people, then pointed at me and said 'you're part of the problem.' I just stood there holding his receipt while my manager refunded it to shut him up. Has anyone else had a single rude customer stick in your head way longer than it should?

Totally get it. That kind of stuff just sticks.

Man, that really hit home. What finally helped me was writing it all down in a notes app, just getting the ugly stuff out. Then I read it back a week later and realized half of it wasn't even that bad, my brain had just blown it way out of proportion. After that, I started telling myself it's just a fact of life that awkward moments happen, and nobody remembers them as much as you do. It took a while, but now when that cringe memory pops up, I just say "yep, that happened" and let it float by.
