Overheard a guy at the coffee shop say he never uses his debit card for online stuff anymore
Tbh, I always used mine for everything until he explained how credit cards have better fraud protection. He said his bank took 2 weeks to sort out a $500 debit card hack last year. Has anyone else made that switch and noticed a difference?

My debit card's been fine for years, honestly.

Switched to using my credit card for all online stuff after a similar scare. My debit card got skimmed at a gas pump and they drained my checking account. It took the bank 11 days to give me my money back, and I missed rent. Now with the credit card, it's the bank's money on the line, not mine, so they fix fraud way faster.

Totally get that. Used to think debit was safer since it's your own cash. But man, hearing about your rent trouble is a wake-up call. The bank moving slow with your actual money is brutal. Now it makes total sense to let them fight for their own cash instead.
