Remember when balcony gardening felt like a chore? My seed starting shift fixed that.
I used to buy all my plants as seedlings from the garden center every spring. Last year, I got a cheap grow light and started my own from seed on a shelf indoors. Now, I have little baby plants weeks before it's warm enough outside. Watching them sprout makes the whole process feel more personal (and way more fun). My harvests are bigger because I can pick varieties that actually do well in pots. It's a small habit that changed how I see my garden from start to finish. I just wish I hadn't waited so long to try it.

Yeah because now it's not a chore, it's a full blown obsession lmao. My shelf of seedlings is basically a tiny plant daycare I'm way too invested in.

Those seedlings probably think you're their employee now lol.

Wait, you got a grow light that was actually cheap? Every single one I looked at online was way more than I wanted to spend for a hobby I wasn't sure about. Where did you even find it? I figured the startup cost for lights would be huge, so I never tried. That changes everything if you can actually do it without spending a ton.
