My picky kid just tried a tomato we grew together
My daughter usually avoids all greens, but she plucked a cherry tomato from our balcony pot and ate it. We've had these plants in recycled containers with basic potting mix for about two months. She helped me poke holes for drainage when we started, and now she wants to check them every day. It's a tiny thing, but it made our week a bit brighter.

Saw friend's kid devour a homegrown carrot. Planting more veggies soon?

You really think homegrown stuff is that much better? Lol I tried a garden once and my carrots came out all twisted and tasting like dirt. Half the time the bugs get to them before you do anyway. Takes way more work than just buying good veggies at the store.
