My neighbor in 5C handed me a plastic fork and said my basil had root rot
Last week I was out on my balcony poking at my sad basil plant when my neighbor from 5C leaned over and asked if she could take a look. She grabbed a plastic fork from her pocket, gently lifted the soil, and said the roots looked brown and mushy, which meant I had been watering way too much for a north facing spot. Has anyone else had a neighbor call out their plant problems like that, and did you actually change your watering after?
My neighbor once told me my tomato plant was doomed because of the direction of the wind, which sounds made up but she was weirdly right about everything else. The real question is whether 5C is just bored or actually some kind of plant whisperer who keeps a fork in her pocket for emergencies.
