My $8 trellis net beat the fancy metal one, what a surprise

I've always been suspicious of those cheap trellis nets from the dollar store, figured they'd sag or snap by July. But last month I hung one on my balcony in Portland for my pole beans and it's holding up way better than the $45 metal panel I bought in April. The metal one started rusting at the joints and the powder coating flaked off after two weeks of rain. The net just stretches and moves with the wind, no damage at all. My bean vines are climbing it like crazy, I counted 14 pods forming yesterday alone. Anyone else have cheap gear outlast their expensive stuff in the garden? What's your best bargain win?
