Pro tip: my pound cake took 4 tries because I kept forgetting to bring the butter to room temp first
I finally figured out after 3 failed cakes that my butter was way too cold, has anyone else spent a whole weekend just trying to get one simple recipe right?

Yeah @juliaa25, you're actually right on that. I used to just crack them straight from the fridge but now I'll let them sit out too.
