That butter sculpture demo at the county fair got weird

I live near Clovis, so I hit the county fair last weekend and sat through a 45 minute butter carving demo... the lady was making a cow head and it was fine, but then some kid yelled out that it looked like his principal. She lost it laughing and the whole thing fell off the table. Butter everywhere on the concrete floor, and she just scooped it back up with her bare hands and kept going. I honestly couldn't tell if that was standard practice or a one time thing, but I won't be eating any fair corn dogs with extra 'butter' after that. Has anyone else seen a demo go sideways like that, or was this just a Clovis special?

And honestly that kind of sums up how most things go when you add an audience, right? People get so focused on the show that the actual craft gets a little sloppy, and then everyone just pretends it's fine because stopping would be awkward. I figure that butter got a real good washing later, but I'd still pass on the corn dog.
