Used to think raised beds were a waste of space until I built one last spring in my tiny backyard in Denver
I always thought they were just for people with too much money and time, lol. But my soil here is straight up clay, nothing would grow except weeds. After dropping $60 on lumber and a weekend of work, my tomatoes actually produced like crazy. Has anyone else had their mind changed on a backyard project they swore they'd never do?

You ever spend a whole weekend building something and realize you spent more time googling "how to not kill a tomato plant" than actually gardening? My first raised bed was a crooked mess, wood splintering everywhere, and I accidentally planted my peppers way too close together. They ended up fighting for sunlight like a bunch of grumpy little roommates. But somehow by August I had better tomatoes than the ones I paid $4 for at the farmer's market. Now I'm out here with three beds and a compost bin like some kind of suburban farmer.
