My neighbor in Springfield said he never feeds his flock any kitchen scraps at all
I was helping him fix a fence post and he mentioned he thinks scraps bring pests and make the eggs taste funny. I've always given my girls leftover veggies and they go nuts for it, plus it cuts down on feed costs. But now I'm wondering if he's onto something about attracting rats or changing flavor. Do you guys give your chickens table scraps, or is it better to stick with just feed?

Oh man, I give my flock scraps every single day. Never had a rat problem, but I'm super strict about cleaning up anything they don't eat right away. The eggs taste fine to me, and my birds seem way happier with the variety.

Wait you actually clean up the scraps they don't eat right away? Every single time? That's some next level dedication. My coop would have food bits everywhere for days. How do you even keep up with that? My birds would make a huge mess and I'd just give up.

Seriously, how long does that cleanup take you every day?
