Swapped cedar for composite on my pergola, no regrets after 2 storms
I had my heart set on cedar. Thought composite looked too fake and would melt in the Texas heat. But my neighbor who builds pergolas for a living talked me into trying it, said cedar would warp within 3 years in our humidity. That was last March. We got hit by hail in June and a windstorm in September. The composite looks brand new. No splinters, no twisting. Has anyone else made the switch and stuck with it, or went back to wood?
