I moved my birdbath and suddenly saw three new species in a week
I kept my birdbath right under a big maple tree for years, thinking the shade was good. Last month, I moved it about ten feet out into a sunny patch near some low bushes. Almost right away, I started seeing birds I never had before, like a yellow warbler and a pair of catbirds. I guess they wanted a clear view to watch for trouble while they drank. Has anyone else had a simple change like that make a big difference?

Maybe it's the bugs in the sunny spot?

Isn't it wild how a tiny tweak can do that? I put a small dish of water on my railing instead of the ground and suddenly got a hummingbird. They just want to feel safe, I guess. Your sunny spot must be perfect for them now.
