Had a crazy good bird day last Tuesday, here's what happened
I sat out with my coffee around 7am and within ten minutes I saw a rose-breasted grosbeak at my feeder. That alone was a treat (I've only seen them like 3 times before). Then about an hour later a pair of cedar waxwings showed up in my crabapple tree, which I've never had in my yard before. Has anyone else had a day where multiple rare birds just show up out of nowhere? It felt like hitting a little jackpot.

Did you have your camera handy? I had a similar thing happen a few years back when a scarlet tanager showed up in my backyard out of nowhere. It stayed for maybe 20 minutes, just hopping around the oak tree, and I barely got a decent photo before it took off. Never saw one since. Makes you wonder what conditions line up to pull them in like that.

Oh man, that's awesome! But @beth_baker69 did you try checking if there was a big cold front moving through or something the night before? I always wonder if that weather stuff is what pushes them off course or whatever.
