Shoutout to my new map skills for finding a hidden waterfall
I picked up how to read topographic maps better. On a hike in the Smokies, I used them to plot a course off the main trail. I found a small waterfall that wasn't on any guide. It was quiet and perfect for a lunch stop. My friends were impressed with the route I planned. I used to just follow marked paths, but now I can make my own. This small win has me excited to plan more routes.

Was the quiet spot the best part?

The third floor study carrel was my saving grace. It offered a full hour of uninterrupted focus. Those silent moments tend to be the real highlight.
