Vent: a green avionics tech in Houston tried to sign off a pitot static check without doing the leak test
He looked me dead in the eye in the hangar and said "it holds fine, I'd bet my ticket on it," so I made him run the test with me watching, and of course it failed at 8,000 feet simulated altitude, so what do you all do when a new guy wants to shortcut a check like that?
