TIL cleaning cannon plugs with a toothbrush beats any fancy tool I own

I used to chase intermittent faults for hours until I tried a stiff nylon brush with isopropyl on a C-130 pitot static harness last Thursday. The corrosion film on the pins came right off and the readings went from flaky to steady in one pass. Anyone else skip the expensive kits and just use basic stuff from the dollar store?

Heard a buddy swear by brake cleaner and a wire brush, same result.
