The night shift at the Wichita hangar when a loose cannon plug taught me to slow down
About 8 years back I was pulling night shift at a hangar in Wichita and rushed a cannon plug on a pitot static line because we had a 5am departure. I signed it off, and the next morning the crew got aairspeed disagree on takeoff roll. Turned out I had two pins barely seated and they backed out with vibration, so the plane sat for 3 days while we traced it. Since then I do a gentle tug test on every single pin, every time, no matter how late it is. Any of you got a trick for locking down cannon plugs so this never happens again?
