Pro tip: don't trust the generic O2 sensor from the big parts store for a 2017 F-150, it cost me $140 and three hours of my Saturday before I had to buy the Motorcraft one anyway.

The cheap one threw a code within 20 miles, so I had to redo the whole job with the right part, which specific brand do you guys actually trust for sensors?

I had the same exact thing happen with my old Civic. The store brand oxygen sensor lasted about a week before the check engine light came back on. It feels like we're all paying for the same lesson over and over. The real cost is never just the part, it's the wasted time and the second round of skinned knuckles. For something that talks directly to the computer, I just don't gamble anymore. I go straight to the OEM part number, even if I have to hunt for a deal online.

Saw a video where a mechanic cut open cheap and expensive O2 sensors. The cheap ones had way less of the special platinum coating inside, which is why they die fast. Makes total sense why they can't read the exhaust right.
