My impact gun left me stuck on a wheel nut for an hour in Tulsa

I was rotating tires on my F-150 and the rear lug nut just would not budge, even with a 1/2 inch Milwaukee impact at full power. Turned out the previous shop had cross-threaded it and left a bunch of rust welded onto the threads, so I had to heat the nut with a torch and hammer on a six-point socket to break it free. Has anyone else found a good trick for seized lug nuts, or am I the only fool carrying a torch in my roadside kit?

Man, torch in the roadside kit seems like overkill for a lug nut.
