Used to layer primer and block sand 3 times every panel - switched to epoxy primer 2 years ago

I was wasting half a day on every job doing that old school buildup method, but a guy at the NAPA counter talked me into trying epoxy and I haven't looked back. Has anyone else made that switch and noticed way less shrinkage down the road?

Yeah the epoxy primer is a game changer for sure. I'd say watch out for humidity when you spray it though, had a batch get that cloudy look on me once when I was rushing a job. Also let it fully cure before you start sanding, like give it a good 24 hours minimum. Makes the blocking way easier and yeah the shrinkage is almost gone compared to the old lacquer based stuff.

You mean NAPA actually gave good advice for once?
