Bondo on a tailgate in 20 degree weather, worst decision of last month
Tried filling a dent on my buddy's F-150 in his unheated garage up in Spokane when it was freezing, stuff kept skimming over before I could shape it. Ended up using a heat gun from 3 feet away for 5 minutes per layer and it finally flowed right. Anyone else got weird weather temp tricks that save a repair?

Friend of mine tried painting a door in similar cold and the clear coat turned to orange peel before he even got halfway. He learned to warm the can in a bucket of hot water for ten minutes before spraying, worked like a charm.

Does the cold mess with the can's pressure too, or is it just the paint itself that thickens up? I've heard some guys stick the whole can in their jacket for an hour before spraying, same idea but slower.
